Manufacturing Supervisor

Job Description:

Supervisors oversee the manufacturing process by leading staff and production processes to ensure the production of quality product in an efficient and safe manner.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Consistently lead and help to cultivate a mission-driven culture and manufacturing environment
  • Leads production efforts of all hourly team members assigned to his/her area
  • Maintains an adequate work force by assisting in the screening, interviewing and selection of production employees
  • Manages and delegates daily job assignments including scheduling work hours
  • Builds rapport with team members and provides both formal and informal feedback
  • Exercises appropriate discipline, awards recognition and cares for the morale of team members according to Novae principles
  • Responsible for the adherence to quality standards, efficiency levels, proper machine utilization, housekeeping and safety practices
  • Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process, personnel, and equipment
  • Creates weekly production schedules
  • Works to achieve the objective of meeting production schedules and delivery dates as committed to customers, while directing the efforts of welders, painters, assemblers and material handlers
  • Plans and implements action plans for continuous improvement in accordance with the direction given by the Plant Manager
  • Treats all team members with dignity and respect. Conducts performance reviews in a timely manner (at least once a year)

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required Updated 2.10.16
  • Minimum of five years of experience in manufacturing leadership, preferably within a heavy manufacturing and welding environment
  • Ability to work third shift • Proven experience in leading safety compliance and engagement
  • Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Visual, and related software
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as interpersonal skills
  • Managerial and leadership skills
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with an inclination to consistently apply critical and analytical thinking skills
  • Proven experience with problem-solving and conflict resolution
  • Willing to submit a pre-employment background check and hair follicle drug screen
